The anti-corrosion measures for manual hydraulic forklifts need to be comprehensively implemented from six aspects: daily cleaning, regular inspections, material protection, hydraulic system maintenance, operating standards, and environmental control. The specific methods are as follows:
1、 Daily cleaning and maintenance
Remove dirt and soil
Regularly clean the surface dirt of the forklift, with key areas including the fork frame, door frame slide, generator, starter, battery electrode fork column, water tank, air filter, etc. Accumulation of dirt may accelerate metal corrosion, especially in humid environments.
Wheels and Drive Wheel Maintenance
Visually inspect the wear of the casters, remove any tangled debris (such as wire ends and plastic film), and avoid sticking and causing uneven wear of the wheels.
Replace the damaged casters and tighten the axle with locking washers and nuts to prevent looseness from causing uneven load or jamming.
lubricating maintenance
Regularly add lubricating oil (such as butter) to the friction parts of the wheel axle, sealing ring, and roller bearing to reduce friction and extend service life.
Seasonal lubricants (such as engine oil) need to be replaced in summer or winter to ensure lubrication effectiveness.
2、 Regular inspection and fastening
Check fasteners
Regularly check the fastening of fork support, lifting chain tightening screws, wheel screws, wheel fixing pins, brakes, steering gear screws, and other parts to prevent loosening and damage or safety accidents.
Check for leakage
Focus on inspecting various pipe joints, diesel tank, engine oil tank, brake pump, lifting cylinder, tilting cylinder, water tank, water pump, engine oil pan and other parts to avoid corrosion or insufficient lubrication caused by oil leakage.
Remove sediment
Regularly remove sediment from the oil filter to prevent impurities from accumulating and causing corrosion or wear to the forklift.
3、 Material and structural protection
Metal component protection
Use materials with the same or similar potential for metal connection parts to reduce the risk of electrochemical corrosion.
Reinforce the gaps with sealant to ensure good sealing and prevent moisture and impurities from entering.
Exposed structure protection
Use dust covers to protect exposed components such as tilt hydraulic cylinders and steering hydraulic cylinder piston rods, reducing contact with dust and moisture.
The body electrical connectors are installed internally, and protective covers are added to the external connectors to prevent short circuits or corrosion.
Coating and Electroplating
Using paint materials with strong corrosion resistance, such as polyurethane and acrylic polyurethane, for coating to enhance the anti-corrosion ability of the vehicle body.
Electroplating treatment (such as chrome plating) on key components to enhance wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
4、 Hydraulic system maintenance
Prevent moisture and air from entering
When not in use, tighten the lid of the oil storage tank and place it upside down to prevent moisture from entering.
During maintenance, avoid water infiltration into the hydraulic system and filter hydraulic oil with high water content multiple times.
Reasonable selection of hydraulic oil
Choose hydraulic oil according to the instructions to avoid using substitute oil that may cause performance degradation. When substitution is required in special circumstances, hydraulic oil with similar performance to the original brand should be selected.
Prevent impurities from entering
Keep the hydraulic oil clean and regularly replace the filter element (such as every 500 hours) to prevent impurities from blocking precision components or oil passages.
Regularly replace hydraulic oil
Replace hydraulic oil and filter element every 1000 hours, clean hydraulic oil tank and filter.
When working at high temperatures for a long time, it is advisable to change the oil in advance to prevent deterioration of the oil quality.
5、 Operating standards and precautions
Avoid overloading and unbalanced loading
When loading, ensure that the length of the fork is greater than or equal to the length of the pallet. Overloading or single fork operation is strictly prohibited to prevent uneven force on the vehicle body from causing deformation or damage.
Prevent long-term standing
It is prohibited to place items in a static state for a long time under heavy load to avoid damaging the hydraulic cylinder or causing oil leakage.
Standardize operational procedures
When pressing and lifting, control the handle to the lower position and press the directional handle to lift the cargo.
When moving, turn the control handle to the center position and slowly drag the cargo (at a speed not exceeding 3 kilometers per hour).
When unloading, turn the control handle to the upper position until the goods touch the ground.
Avoid harsh environments
Do not operate on inclined slopes or steep slopes. If it is necessary to use on a slope, the operator must not stand directly in front of the forklift.
Avoid prolonged exposure to rain or splashing corrosive liquids (such as oil stains and cleaning agents) onto the vehicle body, especially the oil cylinder area.
6、 Environmental Control and Storage
Dry and ventilated storage
Raise the forklift to a high position when parked for a long time to avoid deformation of the drive wheels due to long-term compression. Store in a dry and ventilated place to prevent direct UV radiation from causing polyurethane aging or salt spray from corroding metal parts.
Salt spray test and chemical protection
The driving wheels and other components must undergo salt spray testing (96 hours without corrosion) and chemical reagent immersion testing (72 hours without swelling in pH 2-12 environment) to ensure corrosion resistance.
Avoid using hydraulic oil or cleaning agents that have a swelling effect on polyurethane or rubber.
