1、 Safety regulatory requirements

Rated load identification

Forklifts should be prominently marked with their rated load capacity (such as 1.5 tons, 2 tons, etc.), and the actual load capacity should not exceed 90% of the rated value (it is recommended to reserve a safety margin of 10% -20%).

Long term overloading can cause hydraulic system leakage, fork deformation, or even breakage, leading to tipping or cargo falling accidents.

Balance requirements

The goods must be evenly placed on two forks, and it is forbidden to carry them on one side or off balance, otherwise it may cause the forklift to overturn.

When handling cylindrical goods, anti slip fork patterns or specialized attachments (such as cylinder clamps) should be used to prevent rolling.

Operating safety devices

The steering wheel needs to be equipped with a brake device, especially to prevent slipping during slope operations.

The roof protection frame and shelving must be complete and effective to prevent goods from falling and injuring operators.

The operating handle should conform to ergonomic design to avoid hand fatigue caused by prolonged use.

2、 Performance parameter requirements

Fork size

Length: 50-100mm longer than the tray to ensure stable support. For example, 1200mm pallets require 1250-1300mm forks.

Width: The common width is 160-200mm, which needs to be adapted to the width of the tray opening. Adjustable width forks are suitable for mixed use scenarios with multiple specifications of pallets.

Thickness: High quality forks are made of 4mm steel plate, while inferior products may cut corners to 3mm, which can easily cause deformation or breakage.

Lifting height

Low rise type: with a minimum height of ≤ 85mm, suitable for loading and unloading carriages or working in low rise spaces.

Stacking requirements: Choose according to the height of the shelves, and if stacking to 2 shelves, the lifting height should be at least 200mm.

Standard range: 120-200mm (low release type), up to 300mm.

Wheel configuration

3、 Structural design requirements

Door frame and fork frame

The door frame must not have any deformation or weld detachment, and the rolling gap between the inner and outer door frames should be ≤ 1.5mm. The rollers should rotate flexibly.

The fork frame shall not be severely deformed, the fork root angle shall be ≤ 93 °, the thickness shall be ≥ 90% of the original size, and the height difference between the left and right fork tips shall be ≤ 3% of the horizontal length of the fork.

hydraulic system

The volumetric efficiency of the double acting hand pump is ≥ 92%, and the system needs to operate stably at 1.5 times the rated load.

The lifting cylinder is securely connected to the gantry, and when fully loaded, the lifting speed is ≥ half of the standard value. The self sinking of the gantry within 10 minutes is ≤ 20mm.

Chain and bearings

The tension of the lifting chain is uniform, the end connection is secure, and the pitch exceeds 4% of the original length and needs to be replaced.

The bearings and shafts have no cracks or defects, and rotate flexibly without any jamming.

4、 Material and process requirements

Body material

High strength steel (lightweight design): suitable for frequent moving scenarios, with a self weight of ≤ 50kg.

Ordinary steel: durable but heavy, suitable for fixed work scenarios.

Rust prevention treatment: electrophoretic coating or galvanizing process, suitable for cold storage and humid environments.

Fork material

Three times the rated load strength test is required to ensure that no fracture occurs under extreme working conditions.

There should be no cracks or open welds on the surface, and the positioning should be reliable and the movement should be smooth.

5、 Operational adaptability requirements

Adaptation of homework environment

Cold storage forklifts need to be equipped with low-temperature resistant hydraulic oil and antifreeze seals.

Explosion proof forklifts need to pass relevant certifications and are suitable for use in flammable and explosive places.

Short or folding forks should be selected for narrow channel operations to save storage space.

Extension of homework functions

Horizontal handling: Standard configuration is sufficient.

Stacking/picking up: The height of the shelves needs to be raised by at least 200mm.

Loading/unloading: requires a low release design (minimum height ≤ 85mm).
