The classification system of chain hoists (chain hoists/electric hoists) is based on five dimensions: driving mode, structural characteristics, usage scenarios, lifting capacity, and installation methods. The specific classifications are as follows:

1、 Classified by driving method

Manual type: driven by manually pulling the chain, such as a chain hoist (lifting capacity 5-200kN), suitable for short distance lifting, equipment adjustment, bundling and fixing scenarios. The transmission mechanism is divided into worm gear type (low efficiency, easy to wear, less commonly used) and gear type (such as planetary gears, SH type, WA type). Planetary gear transmission can lift up to 200kN, with high efficiency and reliable self-locking.

Electric type: driven by a motor, the gear set or reducer is divided into reversible gearbox type (with high traction, safe and reliable, suitable for equipment lifting) and friction plate type (with fast speed, commonly used in civil engineering). The lifting capacity can reach hundreds of tons, suitable for large load scenarios such as factories and ports.

Hydraulic/Pneumatic Type: The hydraulic type is driven by a hydraulic cylinder and is suitable for explosion-proof or non powered environments; Pneumatic type is powered by compressed air and is suitable for special explosion-proof scenarios.

2、 Classified by structural characteristics

Transmission methods: including worm gear transmission, planetary gear transmission, helical gear reducer, etc. Planetary gear transmission achieves torque amplification through gear tooth ratio, and the operating force only requires 1/8-1/10 of the weight of the heavy object; Worm gear transmission has been gradually phased out due to low efficiency and high wear.

Chain type: High strength alloy steel ring chain or welded chain, in accordance with GB/T 1243-2006 standard, with a single chain breaking force of 4-8 times the rated load. The dual chain/multi chain design can disperse loads and improve the stability of large tonnage models.

Special structures: such as chain bridge cranes (main beam+lifting trolley), hydraulic chain cranes (dual speed/single speed lifting), some models are equipped with electromagnetic brakes or hydraulic locks, supporting power-off self-locking and precise hovering.

3、 Classified by usage scenario

Industrial field: equipment installation, maintenance, relocation (such as machine tool and motor lifting), production line material handling (such as SMT production line PCB board rack handling).

Construction and Mining: Steel structure hoisting at construction sites, transportation of mining equipment, lifting of heavy objects during mining operations, and loading and unloading of containers at ports.

Warehousing and Logistics: Warehouse cargo turnover, yacht dock hull component lifting, shipyard equipment relocation.

Special scenarios: Mast crane cooperating with high-altitude operations, tightening cable wind ropes, and fixing large equipment (such as leveling and aligning tower equipment).

4、 Classified by lifting capacity

The lifting capacity range is usually 5-200kN, with a maximum lifting capacity of 20t for manual hoists and hundreds of tons for electric hoists. Specific models such as LQ-5 (5t), YQ-50 (50t), etc. require the selection of appropriate tonnage according to operational requirements.

5、 Classified by installation method

It can be suspended on I-beams, crane tracks, or specialized brackets to adapt to the limited space of factory environments. Some models support modular design for quick deployment and maintenance.
