To extend the service life of hydraulic forklifts, systematic maintenance should be carried out from various aspects such as daily cleaning, hydraulic system maintenance, key component inspection, electrical system maintenance, lubrication management, operating standards, and storage environment. Specific measures are as follows:

1、 Daily cleaning and basic inspection

Regularly clean the dust, oil stains, and debris on the surface of the forklift to prevent dirt accumulation from affecting heat dissipation or corroding components.

Clean key components such as forks, chains, and oil cylinders to ensure that there are no foreign objects stuck or worn.

Pre operation safety check

Hydraulic system: Check if the hydraulic oil level is within the specified range, and add the same type of hydraulic oil in a timely manner if it is insufficient; Observe whether there is any leakage in the oil pipe and joint, and repair them immediately if there is any damage.

Tires: Check if the air pressure is normal (too high or too low can affect performance), if there are any damages, cuts, or foreign objects embedded on the surface of the tire, and promptly clean the debris in the tread pattern.

Braking system: Test brake sensitivity, adjust pedal travel and tightness to ensure reliable braking.

Electrical system: Check whether the wires, plugs, and switches are intact, without damage or poor contact; Clean the surface of the battery, check the battery level and electrolyte level (electric forklifts need to be charged regularly to avoid overcharging or undercharging).

2、 Deep maintenance of hydraulic system

Hydraulic oil management

Regular replacement: Hydraulic oil should be replaced every 6 months or according to the manufacturer's specified time (such as every 2000 hours of operation) to avoid system failure caused by oil quality deterioration.

Oil selection: It is necessary to use the same type of oil as the original pressure oil to prevent chemical reactions caused by mixing different oils, which may damage seals or hydraulic pumps.

Oil circuit cleaning: When replacing hydraulic oil, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the hydraulic oil tank, filter, and radiator to prevent residual impurities from blocking the oil circuit.

Hydraulic component inspection

Regularly check the working status of hydraulic pumps, valves, and cylinders, and listen for any abnormal noise or leaks.

Clean the dust on the surface of the hydraulic oil radiator to ensure heat dissipation efficiency and avoid seal aging caused by high oil temperature.

3、 Special maintenance of key components

Tire maintenance

When the tire tread depth is less than 1.6 millimeters, it needs to be replaced to prevent a decrease in traction and side slip.

Regularly check the lubrication of the wheel hub bearings and add lubricating grease to reduce wear.

Chain and door frame

Check the tension of the chain to avoid excessive looseness causing gear jumping or excessive tension increasing wear.

Test the stability of the gantry lifting, check the lubrication of the rollers and guide rails, and add lubricating oil in a timely manner.

Fork inspection

Regularly inspect the forks for deformation, cracks, or wear to ensure that the load-bearing capacity meets the standards.

4、 Electrical System and Battery Management (Electric Forklift)

Battery Maintenance

Regularly check whether the battery terminals are secure, whether there is corrosion, and clean the dust on the surface of the battery.

Follow the charging time and method specified by the manufacturer to avoid overcharging that may cause the battery to swell or undercharge, thus reducing its lifespan.

Motor and controller

Keep the surface of the motor clean to prevent dust from entering the interior; Check if the connecting wires are loose or damaged.

Regularly test the functionality of the controller to ensure normal signal transmission.

5、 Lubrication and anti-wear

lubrication interval

Regularly apply lubricating grease to moving parts such as chains, door frame guides, and rollers to reduce friction and noise.

Choose a lubricant suitable for the forklift working environment (such as high-temperature resistant grease for high-temperature environments).

Joint connectors

Check the wear of each joint connector and replace damaged bolts or pins in a timely manner.

Regularly apply lubricating oil to prevent rusting and sticking during operation.

6、 Operating standards and training

Operator training

Ensure that operators are familiar with the correct operating methods of forklifts and avoid rough handling (such as sudden acceleration, sudden braking, overloading, or single fork operations).

Train operators to identify common fault signals (such as abnormal noise, oil leakage, dashboard alarm lights on), and promptly shut down for maintenance.

Load management

Strictly adhere to the rated load capacity of the forklift, prohibit overloading or uneven loading, and prevent frame deformation or tire blowouts.

7、 Storage environment and long-term parking management

Storage conditions

Forklifts should be parked in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment, avoiding direct sunlight and rain.

When parked for a long time, the fork should be lowered to the lowest position, the handbrake should be pulled up, and the tires should be cushioned to prevent slipping.

Regularly start

Forklifts that have been idle for a long time should be started once a week and run for 10-15 minutes to prevent hydraulic system oil from solidifying or battery depletion.
