To extend the service life of manual hydraulic forklifts, systematic maintenance should be carried out from five aspects: daily inspection, hydraulic system maintenance, key component maintenance, operation standard management, and storage environment control. Specific measures are as follows:
1、 Daily check: prevent problems before they happen
Pre startup inspection
Hydraulic cylinder: Check for hydraulic oil leakage and ensure good sealing. If oil stains are found, immediately replace the seals or repair the hydraulic cylinder.
Wheel: Check the flexibility of rotation, remove tangled cotton threads, cloth strips and other foreign objects to prevent jamming or wear.
Fork: Confirm that the fork arm is not deformed or cracked, and that the symmetry and straightness meet the standards to avoid cargo tipping or equipment damage caused by fork problems.
Fasteners: Check whether the axle nuts and bracket welds are loose or damaged, and tighten the nuts or replace damaged parts in a timely manner.
Monitoring during operation
Load limit: Strictly comply with the rated load capacity of the forklift, prohibit overloading, unbalanced loading or single fork operation, and prevent frame deformation or hydraulic system overload.
Speed control: The moving speed should not exceed 3 kilometers per hour. When turning, slow down to avoid sudden stop or acceleration that may cause the equipment to lose control.
Ground conditions: Avoid using on muddy, uneven, or sloping ground to prevent wheel slippage or frame distortion.
2、 Hydraulic system maintenance: core power guarantee
Hydraulic oil management
Regular replacement: Replace the hydraulic oil every 6 months, or replace it in advance according to the frequency of use. When replacing, it is necessary to drain the old oil and clean the fuel tank.
Oil quality inspection: if the hydraulic oil has turbidity, odor or foam, it needs to be replaced immediately to prevent impurities from wearing the hydraulic pump or valve.
Exhaust operation: If the fork cannot be raised or lowered normally, it may be due to air entering the hydraulic system. Pull the handle to the landing position and repeatedly empty it several times to eliminate air.
Hydraulic pump and valve maintenance
Cleaning and lubrication: Regularly clean the dust on the surface of the hydraulic pump and lubricate moving parts (such as valve rods) to ensure smooth operation.
Seal inspection: If oil leakage is found, replace the seal repair kit and adjust the pressure regulator valve to the appropriate pressure.
3、 Key component maintenance: extending service life
Wheels and bearings
Wear inspection: Check the tire tread depth monthly, and replace it if it is less than 1.6 millimeters. At the same time, check whether the wheel axle is loose and tighten the nut in a timely manner.
Lubrication maintenance: Add lubricating oil (such as butter) to the axle bearings every quarter to reduce wear and prevent jamming.
Forks and brackets
Integrity check: Regularly check whether the fork arm of the cargo fork is bent or broken, whether the welding seam of the bracket is cracked, and repair or replace it in a timely manner.
Anti corrosion treatment: Avoid long-term exposure of forklifts to rain or corrosive liquids, especially in the oil cylinder area, to prevent rusting and seal failure.
Operating handle and valve
Flexibility test: Ensure that the handle is not stuck and the valve operates smoothly. If resistance is found to increase, lubricate the valve stem or replace damaged parts.
4、 Operation standard management: reduce human injury
Single person operation principle
Only one person is allowed to operate the forklift. When multiple people cooperate, a designated person in charge must be assigned to give unified command to avoid accidents caused by chaotic operation.
Safe handling regulations
Smooth fork picking: The fork must be fully inserted under the shelf and moved after the goods are smoothly lifted.
Low level handling: When handling high objects, lower the fork to the lowest position to prevent the goods from falling.
Prohibited behavior:
It is strictly prohibited to throw goods from a height onto a forklift.
It is prohibited to operate forklifts on slopes. If necessary, the operator must stand on the side to prevent loss of control.
It is prohibited to carry people or slide freely on slopes to prevent serious accidents.
5、 Storage environment control: prevent natural wear and tear
Clean storage
Clean the surface stains and dust of the forklift after each use, especially the hydraulic cylinder and wheel parts, to prevent impurities from accumulating and causing wear.
Standardized storage
Lower the forks to the lowest position when unloaded and store them in a dry, ventilated designated location to avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or high temperatures.
Regularly start
If the forklift is idle for a long time, it needs to be started once a month and perform simple operations (such as lifting the fork) to prevent rusting or jamming of the internal parts of the hydraulic system.
