To ensure the safety of electric winch operation, strict control is required from three aspects: pre operation inspection, operation specifications, and post operation maintenance, while complying with general safety guidelines, as follows:
1、 Comprehensive inspection before operation
Equipment integrity check
Appearance and Structure: Check for cracks, deformations, or corrosion in the winch casing, bracket, and drum to ensure a secure installation without looseness.
Electrical system: Check whether the power cord, controller, and remote control (if any) are intact, without damage or aging; Test whether the emergency stop button and safety interlock device are sensitive.
Mechanical components: Check the temperature of key components such as brake belts, bearings, gears, etc. (not exceeding 70 ℃), and confirm that there is no excessive wear or jamming; Check whether the brake device is flexible and reliable, and whether the gap between the brake wheel and the brake shoe meets the standard.
Rope and fixing points: Check whether the steel wire rope or synthetic rope has broken wires, wear or distortion, and ensure that the fixed end is firm and reliable; If using trees as anchor points, tree ties should be used to protect the bark.
Environmental and load assessment
Load limit: Confirm that the load weight does not exceed the rated load of the winch to avoid overloading.
Homework area: Clean up the surrounding debris to ensure a spacious operating space; Check whether the infrastructure such as tracks and supports is stable to prevent the risk of collapse or landslide.
Signal and Communication: Ensure smooth operation of the sound and light signal system, clear communication between operators and signal workers, and avoid misoperation.
2、 Safety regulations during operation
Start and Run
Empty load test run: First, conduct an empty test run to check if the operation is smooth, without any abnormal noise or vibration.
Smooth operation: Gradually release the work brake during startup, while slowly pulling the controller handle to avoid equipment damage or load loss caused by forceful operation.
Load control:
Enhancement: When lifting, first retract the controller, then retract the working brake, and gradually tighten the brake; When lowering, first retract the work gate, then retract the controller to ensure a smooth decrease in load.
Rope loosening restriction: It is strictly prohibited to release heavy objects from the motor without power supply, in order to prevent accidents such as "runaway".
Speed control: Maintain a constant speed during operation and avoid sudden acceleration or braking; When lowering heavy objects, the speed of loosening the rope should match the speed of the trolley to prevent rope impact.
Real time monitoring and emergency response
Instrument monitoring: Pay close attention to instruments such as ammeters, oil pressure gauges, and depth indicators. If the pointer swings violently or shows abnormal values, immediately stop and check.
Abnormal response: If you hear abnormal noises, smell strange odors, or find that the ropes are arranged in a disorderly manner, immediately stop and troubleshoot; In case of emergency (such as sudden power outage), emergency braking can be used, but a comprehensive inspection of the equipment is required afterwards.
Personnel safety: Keep both hands on the brake handle during operation, and strictly prohibit talking to others or being distracted; Non operators should stay away from the work area to prevent rope breakage or load detachment from injuring people.
3、 Maintenance and upkeep after operation
Parking and power outage
Normal parking: Turn the controller handle to zero position and gradually tighten the brake; When parking for a long time, cut off the power and lock the drum.
Emergency stop: After using the emergency brake, it is necessary to check key components such as the steel wire rope and brake device to confirm that there is no damage before resuming operation.
Equipment cleaning and inspection
Cleaning debris: Remove dirt and mud from the ropes to prevent corrosion or wear.
Tightening components: Check if bolts, pins, and other connecting parts are loose, and tighten or replace them in a timely manner.
Lubrication maintenance: Regularly add lubricating oil to components such as bearings and gears to ensure smooth operation; Check if the lubricating oil pressure is within the normal range (such as 0.1-0.4MPa).
Record and handover of shifts
Fill in logs: Record the running time, load situation, faults, and handling measures of the equipment, providing a basis for subsequent maintenance.
On site handover: Detailed explanation of equipment status, precautions, and unfinished tasks to the next shift operator to ensure information continuity.
4、 General Safety Guidelines
Personnel qualifications: Operators need to undergo professional training and hold certificates to work, familiar with the structure, performance, and operating procedures of winches.
Protective equipment: Wear gloves, safety helmets and other protective equipment during operation to avoid hand injuries from ropes or components.
Prohibited behavior:
Overloading operations or running ropes beyond the rated length are strictly prohibited.
It is strictly prohibited to brake both brake levers simultaneously while the motor is running to prevent the motor from burning out.
It is strictly prohibited to use winches to lift, move personnel or non designed loads.
Environment adaptation: when working in extreme weather (such as rainstorm and strong wind) or complex terrain (such as mud and steep slope), additional safety measures should be taken, such as adding anti-skid devices or adjusting the traction angle.
