Inspection and testing methods for operational pneumatic hoists after installation

After installation, the pneumatic hoist in operation needs to undergo systematic inspections such as visual inspection, no-load test, rated load test, static load test, dynamic load test, non-destructive testing, and special safety device testing to ensure that the equipment structure, performance, and safety protection meet the standards. The specific method is as follows:

1、 Preliminary inspection after installation

Appearance and structural inspection:

Confirm that the metal structure of the pneumatic hoist (such as the main beam and support legs) has no cracks, deformations, or welding defects.

Check whether the installation of each component is firm, and whether the connecting parts (such as bolts and rivets) are loose or missing.

Check whether the equipment model, specifications, and installation drawings are consistent to avoid safety hazards caused by "discrepancies between drawings and physical objects".

Safety device inspection:

Test the sensitivity and reliability of safety devices such as limit switches, brakes, and buffers.

Confirm that electrical protection devices (such as overload protection and grounding protection) are working properly.

2、 Load test

The load test is the core link to verify the performance of the pneumatic hoist, which needs to be carried out according to the following steps:

No load test:

Operate the lifting and running mechanisms separately in an unloaded state, with a cumulative running time of no less than 5 minutes in both directions.

Check whether each institution operates smoothly, without any jamming, abnormal vibration or noise.

Verify whether safety devices (such as limit switches and brakes) can operate normally.

Rated load test:

Lift the rated load and conduct a linkage test between lifting and operation.

Check whether each institution is operating normally, without rail gnawing or three legged phenomenon.

Measure static rigidity (as shown below) to ensure compliance with standards (such as A1-A3 class cranes not exceeding S/700, where S is the span).

Static load test:

Lift 1.25 times the rated load, 100-200mm above the ground, and suspend for no less than 10 minutes, repeating 3 times.

Check if the curvature of the main beam meets the requirements (such as electric single beam crane ≥ 0.8S/1000), and there is no permanent deformation, cracks, or loose connections.

Dynamic load test:

Lift 1.1 times the rated load, simultaneously operate two mechanisms, and perform operations such as forward and backward rotation, parking, and reverse rotation for a cumulative time of not less than 1 hour.

Check whether the actions of each mechanism are reliable, without any abnormal vibration, impact or overheating.

Verify that safety protection devices (such as brakes and interlocking devices) are functioning properly.

3、 Special testing

Non destructive testing:

Apply vibration testing technology to detect the dynamic stiffness of key structures such as main beams, and evaluate the structural health status through the attenuation of vibration cycles.

Perform radiographic inspection on the welding area to identify internal defects such as cracks and porosity.

Noise test:

Measure the noise level at maximum operating speed and rated load conditions to ensure compliance with environmental requirements (such as a noise difference of at least 2 values not exceeding 1dB).

4、 Special testing of safety devices

Brake testing:

Test whether the brake clearance is equal on both sides and the size is appropriate.

Verify whether the wear of the brake band is less than 50% of the original thickness to ensure sufficient braking force.

Limit device testing:

Simulate overload, overtravel and other working conditions, check whether the limit switch can cut off the power source in a timely manner to prevent accidents.

5、 Record and Report

Test record:

Detailed records of load test data (such as load values, suspension time, deformation), safety device operation, and abnormal phenomena.

Take photos or videos of the experimental process as the basis for acceptance.

Acceptance report:

Prepare an acceptance report based on the test results to clarify whether the equipment meets the safety technical specifications.

The report needs to be signed and confirmed by the installation unit, the user unit, and the inspection agency.
