Stainless steel lever crane operation and maintenance guide

1、 Operating standards

1. Load management

Overloading is strictly prohibited:

Confirm the rated load of the equipment (usually indicated on the nameplate) before operation, and prohibit overloading. Overloading may cause chain breakage, hook deformation or structural damage, and even lead to accidents.

Load assessment:

Use a load cell or weighing device to assist in confirming the weight of the load, avoiding estimation errors that may cause equipment overload.

Uniformly distributed load:

Ensure even distribution of load and avoid lateral loads or inclined lifting. Use auxiliary ropes to secure the load and prevent sliding or rotation.

2. Handle operation

Correct posture:

Keep the handle parallel to the ground during operation to avoid lateral force or excessive bending of the chain. Sudden release of the handle may cause the load to lose control, and it should be slowly released to control the descent speed.

Free wheel mode:

When the load needs to be moved, switch to the free wheel mode (if any), but ensure that the load is stable and the path is unobstructed.

3. Load lifting and release

Pre lifting inspection:

Confirm that the chain is not twisted, the hook head is securely closed, and the load is correctly suspended inside the hook head.

Slowly rise and fall:

Slowly lift the load during lifting to avoid rapid movements that may cause equipment vibration or loss of load control.

Braking test:

After increasing the load by about 10cm, pause and test the reliability of the braking system. After confirming that there are no errors, continue working.

2、 Daily inspection and maintenance

1. Daily inspection items

Chain and Hook Head:

Check the chain for cracks, deformation, or rust, and whether the hook head is worn or deformed.

Confirm that the hook head safety latch spring is normal and there is no gap when closed.

Braking system:

Test the braking performance to ensure that the load can reliably stop at any position.

Check the wear of the brake pads and replace them if necessary.

Lubrication status:

Moving parts such as chains and gears require regular lubrication (using corrosion-resistant lubricants such as lithium based grease).

Increase lubrication frequency in humid or salt spray environments.

2. Regular maintenance (every 3-6 months)

Deep cleaning:

Remove dirt, welding slag, and other pollutants from the chain to avoid corrosion.

Clean the braking system to ensure that there are no oil stains or foreign objects affecting braking performance.

Component replacement:

Replace worn or damaged chains, hooks, and brake pads immediately (it is recommended to use original accessories).

Check if the chain link is loose and adjust or replace it if necessary.

Rust prevention treatment:

Apply anti rust oil or spray anti rust paint on components such as chains and hooks in damp or salt spray environments.

When stored for a long time, cover with protective cloth and keep dry.

3. Long term storage standards

Environmental requirements:

Store in a dry and ventilated room, avoiding contact with corrosive substances such as acids and alkalis.

Keep away from high temperatures or open sources of fire to prevent material aging.

Component protection:

Apply anti rust oil to the chain and wrap the hook head with protective cloth.

Regularly inspect storage devices to ensure no rodent damage or moisture erosion.

3、 Safety and compliance requirements

1. Environmental adaptability

Corrosive environment:

In high salt spray and chemical corrosion environments, choose 316L stainless steel equipment and install protective covers.

Avoid contact between the chain and welding slag or corrosive liquids to prevent localized corrosion.

Extreme temperature:

In low temperature environments (below -20 ℃), avoid severe impact or rapid load lifting.

Confirm the temperature resistance level of the material (such as molybdenum stainless steel) in high temperature environments (exceeding 200 ℃).

2. Personnel training and qualifications

Operation qualification:

Operators need to receive professional training, familiarize themselves with equipment performance, safety regulations, and emergency response procedures.

Prohibit unlicensed personnel from operating and conduct regular safety drills (such as responding to load slippage).

Compliance certification:

Select equipment that complies with international standards (EN 13157, ASME B30.16) and local regulations (CE, OSHA).

Regularly verify equipment performance and keep test reports for future reference.

3. Emergency response and recording

Accident plan:

Develop emergency plans for lifting accidents, including response measures for scenarios such as load slippage and equipment failure.

Equip emergency tools (such as spare chains and hooks) and regularly check their effectiveness.

Maintenance records:

Establish equipment usage and maintenance records, recording the time and content of each inspection, repair, and component replacement.

Track the lifecycle of equipment and promptly eliminate aging devices.

4、 Special Scenario Operation Guide

1. Food processing industry

Hygiene requirements:

Clean the surface of the equipment before operation to avoid contaminating food ingredients.

Use food grade lubricants to prevent chemical residue.

Anti corrosion measures:

Regularly clean the equipment to avoid the attachment of acidic or alkaline substances.

2. Ocean Engineering

Salt spray protection:

Install stainless steel protective cover to reduce direct contact with seawater.

Rinse the equipment after daily homework to remove salt deposits.

High temperature/humid environment:

Choose 316L stainless steel material with stronger weather resistance and enhance the sealing of the braking system.

3. Chemical and pharmaceutical industries

Explosion proof requirements:

Use explosion-proof stainless steel lever cranes in flammable and explosive environments.

Regularly inspect the explosion-proof performance of electrical components (such as braking systems).

Cleaning standards:

Thoroughly clean the equipment after operation to prevent chemical residues from corroding the surface.
