The operation, maintenance, and upkeep of forklifts can be summarized into three core areas: daily maintenance, regular technical maintenance, and specialized maintenance. The specific contents are as follows:

1、 Daily maintenance (after each shift)

Cleaning and Inspection

Clean the surface dirt and soil of the forklift, with a focus on cleaning the fork frame, door frame slide, generator, battery electrodes, and other parts.

Check the fastening of all parts, including fork support, lifting chain screws, wheel screws, brakes, etc., to ensure that there is no looseness.

Check the flexibility and reliability of the steering gear and foot brake, and test the braking effect.

Oil and leakage inspection

Check the levels of engine oil, hydraulic oil, brake fluid, and coolant, and replenish them to the specified levels if they are insufficient.

Check for leaks in various pipe joints, oil cylinders, water tanks, water pumps, and other parts, and promptly address any oil leakage issues.

Tire and electrical inspection

Check the tire pressure and wear condition, remove any debris from the tread, and confirm that there is no air leakage or damage.

Check if the lights, speakers, and instruments are functioning properly to ensure that the signal devices are effective.

Sediment treatment

Remove the sediment from the oil filter and keep the oil clean.

2、 Regular technical maintenance

1. First level technical maintenance (accumulated 100 hours of operation or every 2 weeks)

Basic project: Complete all daily maintenance tasks.

New project:

Check the cylinder pressure and valve clearance, and adjust them to the standard values.

Check the working status of the thermostat, multi way directional valve, oil cylinder, and gear pump.

Change the engine oil, clean the oil filter and diesel filter.

Check the installation of the generator and starter motor, as well as the wear of the carbon brushes.

After the road test, check whether the brake, transmission, and gear pump are overheated, and whether the fork lift is smooth.

2. Secondary technical maintenance (accumulated 500 hours of operation or quarterly)

Basic project: Complete all first level maintenance tasks.

New project:

Clean the fuel tank, filter screen, and pipelines, and check for corrosion or cracking.

Clean the torque converter and gearbox, replace with new oil, and check for component wear.

Disassemble and inspect the front and rear wheel hubs, adjust the gap between the brake drum and the friction plate.

Clean the steering gear and check the free rotation of the steering wheel.

Check the wear of components such as the steering knuckle, drive axle, and main reducer, and replace the lubricating oil.

Dismantle the tires, check the inner and outer tires and padding, and inflate them to the specified value by changing positions.

3、 Special maintenance

1. Maintenance of hydraulic system

Regularly replace hydraulic oil, clean the oil tank and filter element to prevent oil deterioration or contamination.

Check the sealing of the oil cylinder and pipeline, and replace worn seals.

2. Maintenance of power system

Internal combustion forklift: Regularly replace oil and filter, clean radiator, check valve clearance and exhaust emissions.

Electric forklift:

Keep the battery clean, regularly check the electrolyte density, and replenish distilled water if it is insufficient.

Use specialized charging equipment to avoid overcharging or overdischarging.

Check the corrosion of the battery terminals and apply Vaseline for protection.

3. Maintenance of the load-bearing system

Check the wear of the fork and chain, adjust the tension of the chain and lubricate it.

Check the flexibility of the door frame rollers and bearings, and replace worn parts in a timely manner.

4. Maintenance of control system

Regularly calibrate the sensitivity of the operating lever and the accuracy of the instrument panel indication.

Check the limit switch, protective device, and electrical insulation status.

4、 Maintenance precautions

Safety first: Before maintenance, stop the vehicle, turn off the engine, tighten the handbrake, and hang warning signs.

Professional operation: When dealing with complex components such as hydraulic systems and electrical systems, it should be operated by certified personnel.

Record management: Establish maintenance records, record maintenance time, content, and replacement part information.

Compliance: Comply with the requirements of the "Technical Regulations for Safety of Special Motor Vehicles in the Field (Factory)" (TSG 81-2022).
