At different stages of use of electric hoists, targeted safety measures need to be taken to ensure operational safety and equipment lifespan, which can be divided into four stages: before use, during use, after use, and maintenance:
Precautions before use
Equipment inspection:
Check the appearance of the electric hoist for any damage, such as whether the hook, chain, wire rope and other components are intact, without cracks, deformation or excessive wear.
Check whether the electrical circuit is intact, without any exposure or damage, and ensure that the electrical connection is firm and reliable.
Check whether the manual control buttons for up and down, left and right directional keys are operated accurately, whether the motor is running normally, and whether there is any noise or abnormal phenomenon.
Check if the brake is sensitive and reliable, if the hook stop nut is securely fastened, and if the hook rotates flexibly in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Check if the steel wire rope is arranged neatly on the drum, without any signs of detachment from the pulley groove, disorderly twisting, or overlapping buckles, and if it is well lubricated.
Check whether the upper and lower limit limiters operate accurately and sensitively, and there should be no foreign objects on the running track.
Environmental assessment:
Assess whether the working environment is suitable for the use of electric hoists, including whether the working space is sufficient, whether the ground is flat and solid, and whether there are obstacles around.
Ensure that the working environment temperature is within the working range of the electric hoist (usually -25 ℃ to+40 ℃), and is not filled with corrosive gases or relative humidity greater than 85%.
Operator training:
Operators should receive professional training, familiarize themselves with the operation process, safety precautions, and emergency response measures of electric hoists.
Operators should have knowledge of mechanical and electrical operations, be in good health, and hold certification for their positions.
Trial operation:
Before the formal lifting, conduct a no-load test run to check whether the equipment runs smoothly, without any abnormal noise or vibration.
Conduct an overload test (125% of rated load), hover 100mm above the ground for at least 10 minutes to check the equipment's load-bearing capacity and stability.
Precautions during use
Load control:
Overloading the use of electric hoists is strictly prohibited, ensuring that the weight of the lifted object is within the rated load range.
The suspended object should be securely tied to avoid shaking or slipping.
Operating standards:
Strictly follow the lifting operation specifications for operation, and there shall be no load phenomenon or inclined lifting and unloading of heavy objects.
When lifting, lowering, or moving loads, ensure smooth operation and avoid sudden stops or starts.
It is not allowed to press two manual switch buttons at the same time that cause the electric hoist to move in opposite directions.
It is not allowed to use limiters to park, adjust brakes, conduct inspections and repairs when lifting heavy objects.
Sight and Avoidance:
During the operation, the operator should maintain clear vision to ensure accurate determination of the position and status of the load.
Lifting objects must not stay or move above personnel's heads to avoid collision or falling accidents.
Emergency Management:
In case of equipment malfunction or falling objects, emergency measures should be taken immediately and the machine should be shut down.
Maintain vigilance during the homework process, immediately stop the machine and report any abnormal situations.
Precautions after use
Equipment reset:
After use, the hook should be raised to a safe position and the power should be cut off.
Do not suspend heavy objects in the air to prevent permanent deformation of parts.
Cleaning and Recording:
Clean the electric hoist and remove dust and oil stains from the surface of the equipment.
Recording each operation and maintenance helps track equipment status and prevent malfunctions in a timely manner.
Maintenance precautions
Regular inspection:
Regularly inspect and maintain the electric hoist, including checking the appearance of the equipment, electrical wiring, transmission components, etc. for normal operation.
Clean the dust and oil stains on the surface of the equipment, and replace severely worn components.
Lubrication and maintenance:
Keep the lubricating oil of the electric hoist sufficient and clean, without impurities and dirt.
When oiling the steel wire rope, a hard bristled brush or small wooden pieces should be used. It is strictly prohibited to directly oil the working steel wire rope by hand.
Component replacement:
The inspection and scrapping standards for steel wire ropes should be carried out in accordance with relevant regulations. If the degree of breakage of the steel wire rope exceeds the specified requirements or the wear is significant, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
When key components such as brakes and limiters malfunction or are damaged, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.
