Stainless steel lever cranes require targeted preventive measures at different stages of use, including storage, transportation, installation, commissioning, daily operation, maintenance, and emergency response, to ensure equipment performance and operational safety. The following are specific preventive measures:
1、 Storage and transportation stage
Dedicated storage rack
Use wooden or surface painted carbon steel brackets, or pad with rubber pads, to avoid direct contact with carbon steel and other metals, and prevent dust, oil stains, and rust from contaminating the stainless steel surface.
The storage location should be easy to lift and isolated from other material storage areas to reduce the risk of cross contamination.
Specialized lifting equipment and protective transportation
When lifting, non-metallic lifting devices such as lifting belts and specialized clamps should be used. The use of steel wire ropes is strictly prohibited to prevent scratching the surface.
Transport vehicles must be clean and equipped with isolation and protective measures (such as rubber pads, dust covers) to avoid dragging or bumping, and to prevent surface scratches.
2、 Installation and commissioning phase
Safety device inspection
Ensure that safety devices such as lifting capacity limiters, travel limiters, over hoisting limiters, and electrical protective grounding devices are complete and functioning properly.
Test the sensitivity of the brake, adjust the brake clearance to the standard range, and avoid brake failure.
Track and wheel adjustment
Check the straightness of the track, eliminate the phenomenon of rail gnawing (friction between the wheel rim and the track), and prevent equipment from shaking or derailing during operation.
Adjust the verticality of the wheels to ensure even clearance between the rim and the track, reducing wear.
Trial lifting and load testing
Before formal lifting, conduct a no-load test run to check whether each mechanism operates smoothly without any abnormal vibration or noise.
Gradually load to 110% of the rated load, test the overload protection function of the equipment, and confirm that the safety device is reliably triggered.
3、 Daily operation stage
Strictly abide by the "Ten No Lifting" principle
Lifting is prohibited in situations where the command signal is unclear, overload, inclined objects, people standing on heavy objects, the site is dim, the tension of buried objects is unclear, the workpiece is not securely tied, the edges and corners of heavy objects are not cushioned, there are structural defects, and the steel (iron) water is too full.
Environmental and Load Management
Avoid working in adverse weather conditions such as wind speeds of ≥ 5, rain, snow, and heavy fog to prevent equipment tipping over or obstructed visibility from causing accidents.
Real time monitoring of load weight, overloading is strictly prohibited, and special attention should be paid to the impact of dynamic loads (such as shaking and impact) on equipment.
Execution of operational standards
It is prohibited to go up and down or conduct maintenance during the operation of the crane. Before maintenance, the power must be cut off and warning signs must be hung.
When lifting items, ensure that there are no personnel stopping on the path, avoid heavy objects passing over personnel, and prevent falling and injuring people.
4、 Maintenance and upkeep phase
Regular inspection of key components
Chain: Check the wear, cracks, and deformation of the chain every month, conduct magnetic particle inspection for hidden cracks every quarter, and replace damaged chains in a timely manner.
Gears: Check the meshing of gears every six months, clean impurities on the tooth surface, and replace gears with excessive wear (groove wear>3mm, wall thickness wear>20%).
Brake: Check the thickness of the brake pads weekly (replace if it is less than 2mm), clean the brake wheels and apply rust inhibitor to ensure reliable braking.
Lubrication and anti-corrosion maintenance
Chain: Apply stainless steel specific lubricating oil (such as WD-40) every week to reduce wear and corrosion.
Gearbox: Replace high-temperature resistant grease (such as lithium based grease) every 3 months to prevent gear dry friction.
Stainless steel surface: Regularly clean surface stains, avoid using chlorine containing cleaning agents, and prevent pitting or stress corrosion cracking.
Electrical system protection
Check the insulation resistance of the motor winding every month to ensure a value of ≥ 0.5M Ω to prevent leakage or short circuit.
Clean the dust on the control panel every quarter, check if the wiring connections are secure, and replace aged or damaged cables.
5、 Emergency response phase
Emergency equipment overturning
Immediately cut off the power supply, use jacks, lifting equipment or cutting tools to rescue the trapped personnel, and set up a warning area to prevent secondary accidents.
Fire emergency response
After cutting off the power, use a dry powder fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire, avoid using a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher (which may pose a choking risk), and rescue trapped personnel.
Emergency response to electric shock
Cut off the power supply with insulated tools, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the electrocuted person, and call the emergency number.
Emergency response for falling from heights
Seal the falling area, set up warning signs, use stretchers to transfer the injured, and avoid secondary injuries.
