To meet the rust prevention requirements of manual hydraulic forklifts, a systematic protection system needs to be constructed from five aspects: environmental control, material protection, daily maintenance, structural optimization, and special treatment. The following are specific methods and implementation points:

1、 Environmental control: reduce the causes of corrosion

Temperature and humidity management

Install temperature and humidity sensors in indoor places such as warehouses, and automatically start the dehumidifier when the relative humidity exceeds 75% to ensure a dry environment (daily dehumidification capacity ≥ 50L).

Avoid long-term exposure of forklifts to damp, salt spray, or industrial waste gas environments, such as ports and chemical sites that require dust covers or sealed compartments.

Cleaning and drying

Clean the surface of the forklift with a high-pressure water gun (pressure ≤ 8MPa) every month, and dry it within 4 hours to prevent moisture residue.

Focus on cleaning up dust prone areas such as fork frames, door frame slides, and hydraulic cylinders to avoid accelerated corrosion caused by dirt and metal reactions.

2、 Material protection: enhance corrosion resistance performance

Surface Treatment

Coating protection: Adopting a three coat system (primer+intermediate coat+topcoat), the topcoat is made of weather resistant epoxy resin or polyurethane coating with a thickness of ≥ 120 μ m.

Metal coating: Galvanizing or Dacromet treatment is applied to key components such as forks and chains to form a dense oxide film that isolates corrosive media.

Lubrication and Sealing

Apply lithium based grease (containing MoS ₂ additive) to moving parts such as chains and bearings to reduce friction and corrosion.

The sealing ring of the hydraulic cylinder is made of fluororubber material, which is resistant to oil and aging, and prevents rust caused by hydraulic oil leakage.

3、 Daily maintenance: preventive maintenance

regular inspection

Daily inspection: Clean the surface dirt of the forklift and check for leaks in the hydraulic system (such as oil cylinders and pipe joints).

Weekly inspection: Tighten the fork support, wheel screws and other easily loose parts to prevent metal fatigue corrosion caused by vibration.

Monthly inspection: Remove sediment from the oil filter to prevent acidic substances from corroding the metal inner wall.

Rust treatment

After discovering rust spots, immediately mechanically remove the rust to St2 level (with no visible grease or dirt on the surface), then perform zinc phosphate conversion treatment, and finally apply epoxy repair paint.

Spray ElectriCorr on electrical connection parts ®  VpCI ®- 239 preservative, or place VpCI ® The emitter releases gas-phase rust prevention particles.

4、 Structural optimization: Design rust prevention

Material upgrade

Priority should be given to using 304 stainless steel or aluminum alloy for key components such as forks and frames, which have better corrosion resistance than ordinary carbon steel.

The hydraulic pipeline is made of 316L stainless steel material to prevent the inner wall from rusting and contaminating the hydraulic oil.

drainage

Add drainage holes at the bottom of the forklift to prevent water accumulation; The design inclination angle of the gantry slide (≥ 5 °) ensures that rainwater naturally slides down.

5、 Special scenario protection

coastal areas

Increase the coating thickness to 150 μ m and add anti salt spray additives (such as nano titanium dioxide).

Rinse the surface of the forklift with fresh water every month to remove salt, then dry and apply rust proof wax.

Chemical facilities

Apply polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coating to components that come into contact with chemicals, such as forks, to resist acid and alkali corrosion.

The hydraulic oil selected is anti-wear hydraulic oil (L-HM type), which contains anti-corrosion additives to protect precision components such as pumps and valves.
