The precautions for starting a hydraulic forklift should be comprehensively controlled from four aspects: pre operation inspection, starting steps, special environmental treatment, and safety taboos, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment and extend its service life. Here are specific instructions:
1、 Comprehensive inspection before operation
Mechanical component inspection
Hydraulic system: Check whether the hydraulic oil level is sufficient (when the oil tank vent is unobstructed and the fork is at the lowest position, the oil level is about 50mm above the surface of the oil tank), whether there is any leakage in the hydraulic pipeline, and whether the lifting cylinder and tilting cylinder are working properly.
Tires and axles: Check whether the tire pressure is sufficient (inflate it in a timely manner if insufficient), whether the tire is leaking, bursting or worn; Remove foreign objects from the wheel axle to ensure flexible rotation.
Fork and fork frame: Check whether the fork is deformed or cracked, and whether the welding seam of the fork frame is intact; The length of the fork should be greater than or equal to the length of the pallet to avoid overloading.
Fasteners: Check if the wheel nuts and hub nuts are loose to ensure structural stability.
Electrical and fuel inspection
Internal combustion forklift: Check if the fuel level is sufficient and if there is any leakage in the fuel pipeline.
Electric forklift: Check if the battery is fully charged, if the connecting wires are secure, and if the battery is corroded (if damaged, replace it promptly).
Lights and signals: Check if the reversing lights, headlights, and turn signals are intact, and press the horn to confirm that the sound is bright.
Safety device inspection
Braking system: Test the sensitivity of the foot brake and parking brake to ensure that the braking distance meets the requirements.
Speed limiting device: Check if the central controller of the speed limiter is firmly connected to the speed limiting link, and if the socket and bracket are not loose.
Protective device: Check if the door frame is deformed or loose (if necessary, it needs to be straightened or reinforced) to ensure clear visibility during operation.
2、 Standard startup steps
Gear and key operation
Place the shift lever in neutral position to avoid equipment damage caused by starting with a gear.
Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise for 15-20 seconds to preheat (the preheating time may be extended in winter or low temperature environments), then turn it clockwise to the "Run" position.
The startup time should not exceed 5 seconds each time. If the startup is unsuccessful, try again after an interval of 2 minutes to avoid excessive battery discharge.
Idle speed and temperature rise
After starting the engine, idle for 5 minutes until the cooling water temperature rises to around 60 ℃ before operating at full load.
After work, let the forklift idle for 5 minutes before stopping to prevent damage to high-temperature components due to sudden cooling.
Low temperature environment startup
Preheating method:
Oven heating: Heat under the oil pan, pay attention to the flame height, and avoid oil leakage that may cause a fire; Continuously rotate the crankshaft during heating to evenly heat the oil.
Hot water/steam preheating: Inject hot water or steam into the engine cooling system and start when the cylinder temperature rises to 40-50 ℃.
Operation after startup: Run at low speed to raise the engine temperature to 40-50 ℃, then turn off the engine and add water (except for vehicles with antifreeze). After filling up, restart and idle until the temperature reaches 70 ℃ before driving.
3、 Special scenario handling
Slope operation
Prohibit loading and unloading goods on slopes (slope>5%); If necessary, the operator should stand on the side of the forklift to prevent inertia from causing loss of control.
When going uphill, the fork is in front, and when going downhill, the fork is behind. Keep driving at low speed.
Visual obstruction during homework
If the goods obstruct the line of sight, reverse driving or be guided by others to avoid collision.
When transporting large goods, the fork should be lowered to the lowest position (≤ 20cm from the ground) to reduce the height of the center of gravity.
Narrow channel operation
Ensure that the channel width is ≥ forklift width+50cm to avoid collision with goods and equipment.
Plan the path in advance, reduce the number of forklift turns, and improve efficiency.
4、 Safety taboos
personnel security
It is strictly prohibited to place any part of the body under the fork, on the loaded goods, or near mechanical lifting components.
Prohibit manned driving or free sliding on landslides to prevent overturning or falling accidents.
Equipment safety
Overloading, unbalanced loading, or single fork operation are prohibited to prevent fork deformation or vehicle overturning.
Do not throw goods from a high place onto the forklift to avoid damage to the forks or goods.
Prohibit long-term static loading to prevent leakage caused by excessive pressure in the hydraulic system.
Operating Specifications
When the engine is running, it is forbidden to turn the preheating start switch to the "start" position, otherwise it will damage the electric motor.
When the forklift engine is turned off, the preheating start switch should not be in the "run" position to avoid battery discharge.
