What is the reason for the noise generated by the reducer of the emulsion crane hoist

The noise generated by the reducer of the emulsion crane hoist is mainly due to the combined effects of gears, bearings, lubrication, assembly accuracy, resonance, and external factors. The specific analysis is as follows:

1、 Gear problem

Gear machining and precision

The bending strength, contact accuracy, motion accuracy, manufacturing accuracy, and working stability accuracy of gears all affect noise. If the precision of gear manufacturing is insufficient, intense vibration and impact sound will be generated during meshing, resulting in high-frequency noise.

Tooth orientation error, pitch deviation, and tooth profile error can affect the contact in the tooth height direction, resulting in poor contact and generating noise.

Insufficient motion accuracy may cause low-frequency noise, and the noise will also increase with the increase of periodic errors.

Eccentricity and excessive weight of the wheel body can cause vibration of the wheel system, leading to noise in the reducer.

Gear wear and damage

Long term high load operation or insufficient lubrication can accelerate gear wear, resulting in gaps or cracks on the tooth surface and abnormal noise.

Foreign objects entering the gear meshing area (such as small metal fragments) can cause impact damage to the gear and cause noise.

2、 Bearing issues

Bearing damage

High load, high-speed operation, or poor lubrication can accelerate bearing wear, leading to bearing damage and producing abnormal friction or impact sounds.

Bearing water ingress or foreign object contamination can also accelerate damage and cause noise.

Large bearing clearance

During long-term use, the wear of internal rollers and inner and outer rings of bearings can lead to increased clearance and noise.

The clearance of bearings in reducers operating in high-temperature environments may change due to thermal expansion and other reasons, exceeding the design allowable range and causing noise.

3、 Lubrication issues

Insufficient oil

During the operation of the reducer, the oil may decrease due to leakage (such as oil seal aging or damage), resulting in insufficient lubrication, increased friction between gears and bearings, and noise generation.

Unreasonable design may lead to excessive consumption of oil during the internal circulation of the reducer (such as loss of oil due to high temperature evaporation in poorly cooled reducers), causing noise.

Oil contamination or incorrect type

Dust, impurities, and other contaminants in industrial environments may enter the reducer and contaminate the oil, leading to a decrease in lubrication efficiency and generating noise.

Using the wrong type of oil (such as viscosity not meeting requirements, insufficient wear resistance) cannot meet the lubrication needs of the reducer, causing noise.

4、 Assembly accuracy issue

Poor gear meshing

During the installation process of the reducer, if the manufacturer's installation guide is not strictly followed, it may result in parameters such as parallelism and coaxiality of the gear shaft not meeting the requirements. When the gears mesh, they are not in ideal line contact, but in point contact or local surface contact, generating noise.

During the operation of the reducer, external vibrations or impacts may also cause changes in the originally adjusted gear meshing state, resulting in noise.

Loose components

During installation, some components (such as bearing pre tensioning mechanism, shaft positioning mechanism, etc.) become loose, which can cause inaccurate system positioning, abnormal position engagement, shaft movement, vibration, and noise.

5、 Resonance problem

Resonance between the fuselage and the foundation support

When installing the reducer, if resonance occurs between the body and the foundation support and connecting parts, noise will be generated.

The internal gears of the reducer may also resonate within certain speed ranges, which is directly related to the failure to identify the resonance position during installation and take corresponding vibration reduction or blocking measures, in addition to design reasons.

The geometric accuracy of the components does not meet the standard

The geometric accuracy of the components during installation does not meet the standard requirements, which may cause resonance and noise in the reducer components.

6、 External factors

Negative alignment

Poor alignment between the reducer and the drive motor or other connecting equipment is a common problem. This may be due to inaccurate alignment of the equipment during installation, or offset of the axis caused by foundation settlement during operation.

Load related issues

When the load is too large, the internal components of the reducer (such as gears, bearings, etc.) will be subjected to pressure beyond their design limits, resulting in abnormal noise.

Frequent load fluctuations can also affect the normal operation of the reducer, leading to noise.
