1、 Pre operation checklist
1. Appearance and structural inspection
Cracks or deformations: Check the main body, hook, and chain of the crane for cracks, deformations, or welding defects.
Reason: Cracks may cause equipment breakage and lead to accidents.
Tightening of connectors: Check for loose or missing bolts, pins, etc.
Reason: Loose parts may detach during operation, causing the equipment to lose control.
2. Chain and hook inspection
Chain wear: Measure the diameter of the chain or check for obvious stretching or twisting.
Reason: Chains with wear exceeding 10% need to be replaced immediately, otherwise they may break.
Hook safety: Check whether the hook is deformed or cracked, whether it rotates flexibly, and whether the safety buckle is intact.
Reason: Damaged hooks may cause heavy objects to slip off.
3. Braking system testing
Braking efficiency: In the unloaded state, slowly release the lever and observe whether the brake can immediately stop the chain movement.
Reason: Brake failure may cause heavy objects to lose control and fall.
Brake clearance: Check whether the clearance between the brake pads and the brake wheels meets the requirements of the instruction manual.
Reason: Excessive clearance can reduce braking force.
4. Lubrication and corrosion inspection
Lubrication status: Check the lubrication condition of key parts such as gears, bearings, and chains, and supplement or replace lubricating oil if necessary.
Reason: Insufficient lubrication can accelerate wear, generate noise and vibration.
Corrosion situation: Although stainless steel components are corrosion-resistant, they still need to be checked for local rust or chemical damage.
Reason: Corrosion may weaken the structural strength.
5. Inspection of operating mechanism
Leverage flexibility: Check whether the lever rotates flexibly without any jamming phenomenon.
Reason: Stagnation may cause a sudden increase in operating force, leading to loss of control.
Limit device: Test whether the upper and lower limit switches are effective (if equipped).
Reason: Limit failure may cause chain derailment or equipment overload.
6. Environmental and load assessment
Ground flatness: Confirm that the equipment is placed on a hard and flat surface, avoiding tilting or sinking.
Reason: Unstable foundation may cause equipment to flip over.
Load matching: Check if the load weight is within the rated range of the crane and verify if the load is balanced.
Reason: Overloading or overloading may cause structural damage or overturning.
2、 Precautions during operation
Slow start: Avoid emergency stop or rapid reverse operation to reduce impact torque.
Observe abnormalities: Pay attention to listening/watching for any abnormal noise, vibration, or oil leakage during the operation process.
Maintain distance: Operators should stand in a safe position and avoid being under loads or within the trajectory of equipment movement.
3、 Post operation maintenance
Cleaning equipment: Remove dirt or impurities from chains and gears to prevent corrosion.
Record logs: Record the load weight, time, and any abnormal situations of this operation for easy tracking of equipment status.
Through the above inspections, operational risks can be minimized to ensure the safe and efficient operation of stainless steel lever cranes.
