To do a good job in the maintenance and upkeep of manual hydraulic forklifts, it is necessary to start from five aspects: daily inspection, regular maintenance, operating standards, fault handling, and storage management. The specific measures are as follows:

1、 Daily check: prevent problems before they happen

Hydraulic system inspection

Check whether the hydraulic cylinder leaks and whether the hydraulic oil is sufficient before daily use. If the hydraulic oil is insufficient or contains impurities, it is necessary to promptly replenish or replace the clean hydraulic oil and eliminate the air in the system.

Test whether the handle operation is smooth and whether the fork lifting is stable, to avoid cargo slipping or equipment damage caused by hydraulic system failure.

Wheel and caster inspection

Visually inspect the wear of the wheels to ensure that they rotate smoothly without any jamming. Remove cotton threads, cloth strips, and other debris from the wheel axle to prevent entanglement from affecting operation.

Check if the fixing screws of the wheels are loose. If they are severely worn, they should be replaced immediately to avoid the forklift tipping over due to unstable wheels.

Forks and structural inspection

Check whether the fork is deformed, worn or cracked, and whether the welding and connection parts of the fork frame are firm.

Ensure that the length of the fork is equal to or greater than the length of the pallet to avoid equipment tipping over due to single fork operation or uneven loading.

2、 Regular maintenance: Extend service life

Lubrication maintenance

Add lubricating oil (such as butter) to the friction parts of the wheel axle, sealing ring, roller bearing, etc. every month to reduce wear and ensure flexible rotation.

Regularly check the tension of the chain, adjust it if it is too loose or too tight, to avoid chain breakage or sprocket wear.

Fastener inspection

Check the axle nuts and bracket welds for looseness or damage every quarter, and tighten the nuts or securely rivet the plug-in casters.

Ensure that the installation bracket is not bent, and use locking nuts or anti loosening washers to prevent components from falling off.

Deep maintenance of hydraulic system

Check the hydraulic cylinder, oil seal, and multi way directional valve every six months, replace aging or worn seals, adjust the pressure regulating valve to ensure stable system pressure.

Clean the hydraulic oil pipes and joints to prevent oil leakage, and replace damaged parts if necessary.

3、 Operation standard: Reduce human damage

Overloading is strictly prohibited, and the weight of the goods must be within the rated load range of the forklift.

Avoid unbalanced loading or single fork operation, ensure that the fork is fully inserted under the pallet, and keep the goods stable before pulling them.

Speed and Path Control

Driving speed ≤ 3 kilometers per hour, slow down when turning to avoid sudden braking causing cargo to slip off.

When the line of sight is obstructed (such as goods being too high), it is necessary to reverse and drive at low speed or arrange for a dedicated person to command.

Special scene taboos

It is prohibited to operate on slopes (slope>7 °). If necessary, the operator must not stand in front of the forklift to prevent inertia loss.

It is strictly prohibited to carry people, slide freely on slopes, or throw goods from high places onto forklifts.

4、 Fault handling: timely repair of hidden dangers

Common troubleshooting

Forks not lifting: Check if hydraulic oil is sufficient, if air is expelled, or adjust the pressure relief valve.

Hydraulic cylinder leakage: Replace the seal repair kit and check if the valve body is damaged.

Wheel rotation failure: Remove debris, add lubricating oil, or replace worn wheels.

Professional Repair

If there are complex faults such as handle damage or leakage inside the multi way directional valve, it is necessary to contact professional maintenance personnel to replace parts or adjust the valve body.

Regularly, the maintenance department conducts spot checks on key parts and fills out maintenance records to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.

5、 Storage management: Avoid environmental damage

Storage environment

Forklifts should be parked in a dry, ventilated, and non corrosive gas environment, avoiding direct sunlight and rain to prevent metal parts from rusting.

When not in use for a long time, it is necessary to lower the fork to the lowest position with no load and regularly start the equipment to check if the function is normal.

Identification and Training

Ensure that all safety warning signs are clear and visible, and operators need to receive professional training to be familiar with correct operating methods and maintenance requirements.

Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from using forklifts to prevent equipment damage or safety accidents caused by misoperation.
