The inspection and testing of manual forklifts should be carried out around six core modules: appearance structure, hydraulic system, fork wheel set, control system, transmission components, and functional testing. Combined with visual inspection, operational testing, and professional instrument testing, it is necessary to ensure that the equipment meets safety operating standards. The following are specific inspection and testing methods:
1、 Appearance and structural inspection
Overall appearance: Check the forklift for any obvious damage, such as dents, scratches, or cracks, paying special attention to key parts such as the cantilever, fork arm, body, and roof.
Component fastening: Confirm that all components (such as bolts and nuts) are not loose or detached to ensure structural stability.
2、 Hydraulic system testing
Leakage inspection: visually inspect the hydraulic cylinder, oil pipes, and joints for oil leakage, and if necessary, use fluorescent leak detectors to increase the detection rate of small leakage points.
Pressure test: The pressure value of the lifting oil cylinder is detected through a pressure gauge, and compared with the rated pressure indicated on the equipment nameplate (usually 12-16MPa). If the deviation exceeds ± 10%, immediate maintenance is required.
Response speed: When operating the lifting rod, the delay time for the fork to start lifting should be ≤ 1 second, and the adjustment time for the forward and backward tilt angle of the tilt cylinder should comply with ISO 22915 standard.
3、 Fork and Wheel Inspection
Fork status:
Check whether the fork is deformed, cracked, or excessively worn to ensure its rated load capacity.
Confirm that the fork length is equal to or greater than the pallet length to avoid the risk of overloading.
Wheel set flexibility:
Rotate the wheels and check if they are flexible and not stuck, ensuring smooth movement.
Check the tire pressure (inflatable tire: 0.35-0.45MPa) or the joint between the rubber layer and the wheel hub (solid tire: crack length ≤ 20mm).
4、 Control system testing
Handle operation: Check whether the control handle is flexible, and whether the lifting, centering, and unloading operations are smooth.
Braking function:
Test the brake pedal stroke, there should be no obvious virtual position, and the rebound speed should be normal.
Conduct a braking force test, and when an unloaded forklift is driving at a speed of 20km/h on a dry road surface, the braking distance should be ≤ 3 meters.
Parking brake performance: When the handbrake is tightened on a 15% slope, the vehicle should be able to remain stationary for more than 5 minutes.
5、 Transmission component inspection
Chain integrity: Check if the chain is broken, worn, or loose to ensure stable load control.
Pulley device: Check if the pulley is effective, remove foreign objects from entanglement, and ensure smooth transmission.
6、 Functional testing
Empty load test: perform lifting and moving operations to check for abnormal noise or jamming.
Load test: Under rated load, test the lifting and movement stability of the forklift to confirm that there is no permanent deformation or damage.
Dynamic test: Conduct driving tests in appropriate environments to test parameters such as acceleration, braking distance, turning radius, etc.
