Precautions for manual forklift oxen at different stages of use

Targeted preventive measures should be taken for manual forklifts at different stages of use to extend equipment lifespan and ensure operational safety. The following are specific stage divisions and precautions:

1、 Preparation stage before use

Appearance and structural inspection

Check whether key components such as forks, frames, and wheels are deformed, cracked, or severely worn.

Confirm whether the length of the fork matches the size of the goods to avoid overloading or single fork operation.

Check if the safety pins, chains, guide wheels, and other accessories are intact to ensure that they are not loose or missing.

Hydraulic system inspection

Check whether the hydraulic oil level is within the specified range and whether the oil quality is clean and free of impurities.

Test the forklift lifting function and confirm that there is no jamming, abnormal noise, or automatic descent phenomenon.

Check whether the pressure relief valve, descent control valve and other valves are sensitive, and whether the adjusting screws are tightened.

Environmental adaptability inspection

Clean up obstacles in the work area to ensure that the ground is flat and free of potholes.

When used in damp, dusty, or corrosive environments, take protective measures in advance (such as installing dust covers and applying rust proof oil).

2、 Operation and usage phase

Standardize operational procedures

Load control: Overloading is strictly prohibited, and the weight of goods must not exceed the rated load of the forklift; Avoid overloading and ensure that the center of gravity of the goods is located at the center of the fork.

Speed control: When moving, slow down (not exceeding 3km/hour) to avoid sudden acceleration or braking.

Lift control: Control the weight of the goods during pressure lifting, and ensure that the goods are completely on the ground before moving after unloading; Lower the fork to the lowest position when dealing with high objects and low loads.

Steering control: Reduce speed when turning and avoid sharp turns in narrow spaces or slopes.

Special scenario response

Slope operation: It is strictly prohibited to freely slide or carry people on the slope; If necessary, the operator must not stand in front of the forklift and ensure the stability of the goods.

Eye obstruction: If the goods obstruct the line of sight, command personnel or auxiliary tools such as mirrors need to be configured.

Adverse environment: When used in high, low, or humid environments, regularly check the viscosity of hydraulic oil and the performance of electrical systems.

Operation taboos

It is strictly prohibited to drop goods from a height onto a forklift or load unstable or loosely packaged goods.

It is prohibited to park in a static state for a long time under heavy load to avoid damaging the hydraulic cylinder.

It is not allowed to use a single fork for operation or use inertia to load and unload goods.

3、 Post use maintenance phase

Cleaning and Maintenance

Remove dirt, soil, and debris from the forklift, with a focus on cleaning the fork frame, slide, chain, and other parts.

Check the hydraulic oil level and replenish it promptly if it is insufficient; If the oil becomes dirty or contains impurities, it needs to be replaced with new oil.

Add lubricating grease to rotating components such as axles and bearings to reduce wear.

Component inspection and replacement

Check whether the fork, frame, wheels and other components are deformed or cracked, and repair or replace them in a timely manner.

Check the tension of the chain to avoid excessive elongation; Check whether the guide wheel is damaged and ensure that the chain runs smoothly on the track.

Check whether the seals (such as oil seals, O-rings) are aging or worn, and replace them if necessary.

Storage and protection

Park the forklift in a dry and ventilated room, avoiding direct sunlight or rain.

If parked for a long time, the hydraulic system should be started regularly to prevent oil circuit blockage or seal adhesion.

When stored in a humid environment, anti rust oil can be applied to key components or moisture-proof covers can be installed.

4、 Regular professional maintenance phase

Develop maintenance plan

Develop a graded maintenance plan based on usage frequency and operating conditions (such as daily maintenance, first level maintenance, second level maintenance).

Focus on inspecting core components such as hydraulic systems, structural components, and safety devices.

Professional maintenance content

Hydraulic system: Detect oil pressure, oil temperature, and oil circuit sealing, clean or replace filters.

Structural components: Inspect the welding points and stress concentration areas of components such as forks, frames, and wheels, and perform non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing).

Safety devices: Test the sensitivity of braking systems, limit switches, safety pins, and other devices to ensure proper functionality.

Record and improve

Establish equipment files to record the time, content, and replacement of parts for each maintenance.

Optimize usage habits or adjust maintenance cycles based on maintenance results to form a closed-loop management.
