Rust prevention methods for explosion proof pneumatic hoists

For the rust prevention of explosion-proof pneumatic hoists, a systematic plan should be developed from five aspects: structural design, surface treatment, environmental control, lubrication maintenance, and regular inspection, based on their explosion-proof characteristics and operating environment. The following are specific methods and analysis:

1、 Structural design optimization: reducing corrosion incentives

Simplify structure and unify materials

Prioritize the use of the same metal material (such as stainless steel or anti-corrosion alloy) to avoid electrochemical corrosion caused by contact between different metals.

Reduce gaps, holes, and welding joints to lower the risk of moisture and corrosive media retention. For example, using integral casting technology instead of splicing structure.

Explosion proof component isolation design

For key components such as explosion-proof brakes and electrical control boxes, sealed enclosures or explosion-proof chambers are used to prevent the intrusion of corrosive gases inside.

Ensure that the weld seam is flat and smooth, without defects such as undercutting or weld bead, and avoid stress concentration that may cause crevice corrosion.

2、 Surface treatment: Building protective barriers

Rust removal and pretreatment

Sandblasting rust removal: Sandblasting technology is preferred to remove the oxide scale, rust layer, and oil stains on the metal surface, achieving a cleanliness level of Sa2.5, which can extend the service life of the anti-corrosion layer by 3-5 years.

Acid pickling and rust removal: suitable for precision components, but it is necessary to strictly neutralize residual acid to prevent hydrogen embrittlement.

Selection of anti-corrosion coating

Primer: Graphene low surface treatment primer is selected to use its super strong barrier properties to block corrosive media such as chloride ions and sulfides, and has low requirements for surface roughness, making it easy to apply.

Topcoat: Choose weather resistant coatings based on the environment, such as polyurethane topcoat (salt spray resistance>1000 hours) or fluorocarbon paint (UV resistance>15 years).

Multi layer coating: Adopting the "three coatings and one baking" process (electrophoretic layer+intermediate coating+colored paint layer+clear coat layer) to enhance the adhesion and scratch resistance of the paint film.

3、 Environmental control: reduce corrosion risk

Dry environment layout

Install the gourd in a well ventilated area with a humidity of less than 60% to avoid accelerating metal oxidation in humid environments.

If used near a corrosive gas plant, the hoist should be arranged at the lower air outlet to reduce contact with acidic/alkaline gases.

Temperature and Humidity Monitoring

Install temperature and humidity sensors to automatically activate dehumidification equipment when the environmental humidity exceeds the standard, preventing the formation of condensation water.

4、 Lubrication and maintenance: reduce mechanical wear and tear

Lubrication of bearings and shafts

Regularly apply calcium based or lithium based lubricating grease to moving parts such as bearings and connecting pins to form an oil film to isolate corrosive media.

The steel wire rope adopts a manganese based phosphating coating to enhance its corrosion resistance and extend its service life.

Application of anti-corrosion grease

Soak small components (such as bolts and washers) in rust proof grease to form a protective layer.

For large structures (such as gourd shell), the spray method is used to spray diluted antirust oil to ensure uniform coverage.

5、 Regular inspection and repainting: repairing the protective layer

Coating status monitoring

Check the glossiness, roughness, and cracking of the coating every quarter. If the glossiness decreases by more than 90%, the cracking area exceeds 25%, or the corrosion area exceeds 40%, immediate repainting is required.

Requirements for touch up painting process

Before repainting, the old paint layer and rust must be thoroughly removed, and a coating compatible with the original coating should be used.

For easily corroded parts such as welds and corners, focus on applying anti rust paint to ensure that the coating thickness meets the standard.

6、 Special scenario protection: for explosion-proof requirements

Explosion proof electrical component protection

For increased safety and explosion-proof electrical components, regularly check the sealing of the casing to prevent moisture from entering and causing short circuits or corrosion.

Adopting immersion or sealing treatment to isolate internal metal components from corrosive environments.

Brake system maintenance

Regularly check the gap between the brake wheels and brake shoes, use non sparking material brake shoes to reduce particle corrosion caused by friction.

Apply high-temperature resistant and anti-corrosion paint to the brake housing to prevent high-temperature oxidation.
