When using a manual hydraulic forklift, in order to ensure operational safety, the following key precautions must be strictly followed:
1、 Pre operation inspection: eliminate hidden dangers
hydraulic system
Check if the hydraulic cylinder is leaking. If oil leakage is found, stop using it immediately and repair it.
Confirm the effectiveness of the pulley device, remove foreign objects (such as cotton threads and cloth strips) from entanglement, and prevent steering jamming.
Check the hydraulic oil level daily to ensure that the oil level is below 5mm above the liquid level of the rubber container, in order to avoid weak lifting due to insufficient oil level.
Structure and components
Check whether the fork is symmetrical and straight, and whether the fork arm height adjustment function is normal to prevent deformation and accidents.
Confirm the wear condition of the wheels and replace the damaged ones to avoid the wheel frame rubbing against the ground or the wheel axle being exposed.
Check all nuts and bolts for tightness to prevent structural damage or oil leakage caused by looseness.
Environment and Load
Ensure that the work surface is dry and flat, and prohibit use on muddy, sloping (slope>2%) or steep slopes to prevent tipping.
Confirm that the weight of the goods is within the rated load range of the forklift. Overloading, unbalanced loading, or single fork operation are strictly prohibited to avoid deformation or breakage of the forks.
2、 Standard operation: Safety first
Single person operation principle
Manual hydraulic forklifts should be operated by only one person, and when multiple people cooperate, a designated person in charge should be assigned to command and ensure coordinated movements.
Load and Handling
Goods should be placed in the center: The length of the fork should completely cover the pallet to prevent the goods from tipping over after being lifted.
Stable fork retrieval: The fork must be fully inserted under the shelf and pulled after the goods are stable to prevent slipping.
Low level handling: When handling high objects, the forks should be placed as low as possible to reduce the risk of goods falling.
Prohibited high-altitude throwing: It is strictly prohibited to throw goods directly onto forklifts from a high place to avoid vehicle damage or cargo damage.
Speed and steering
The operating speed should not exceed 3 kilometers per hour (the normal walking speed for adults is 5 kilometers per hour), and slow down when turning.
Avoid sudden braking or turning to prevent the goods from tipping over or the forklift from losing control.
Body Protection
Physical contact is strictly prohibited: During operation, hands, feet, and other parts should not be placed under forks, near mechanical lifting components, or on goods to prevent pinching or crushing injuries.
Clear line of sight: If the line of sight is obstructed (such as cargo obstruction), adjust the angle or seek assistance. Blind operation is strictly prohibited.
3、 Special scenario response: risk avoidance
Slope operation
It is prohibited to use forklifts on slopes. If it is necessary to pass through, ensure that:
Slope inclination ≤ 2%;
The forklift is unloaded, with the fork arms facing downhill;
The operator stands on the side of the forklift to avoid losing control and hitting people due to inertia.
Dangerous goods handling
It is prohibited to transport compressed gas cylinders or flammable and explosive materials.
When handling other hazardous chemicals, specialized containers should be used and securely fixed, and safety measures such as electrostatic grounding should be installed.
Emergency situation handling
If the goods or forklift are overturned, do not attempt to straighten them and immediately evacuate to a safe area.
When the forklift is stationary, it is strictly prohibited to turn the steering wheel perpendicular to the fork to prevent sliding.
4、 Post operation maintenance: Extend lifespan
Storage standards
After use, lower the fork to the lowest position and store it in a dry and ventilated designated area to avoid corrosion caused by long-term exposure to sunlight and rain.
regular maintenance
Lubrication and maintenance: Add lubricating oil (such as butter) to friction parts such as axles and bearings every month to reduce wear.
Tightening inspection: Check and tighten all nuts and bolts every six months to prevent loosening.
Filter element and oil replacement: Replace the hydraulic filter element every 500 hours, replace the hydraulic oil and filter element every 1000 hours, and clean the oil tank and filter.
Fault handling
If faults such as hydraulic cylinder leakage, fork deformation, or wheel jamming are found, they should be immediately stopped and repaired by professional personnel. It is forbidden to work with problems.
