When using emulsion (or hydraulic system related) lifting equipment (such as emulsion chain hoists), strict control should be taken from five aspects: system cleaning, water quality control, operation standards, maintenance management, and safety protection. Specific precautions are as follows:
1、 System cleaning and pretreatment
Thoroughly clean the liquid supply system
Before use, it is necessary to remove impurities, biofilms, or old liquid residues from the machine tool, supply pipeline, and oil tank to prevent contamination of the new liquid. If the system has been contaminated by biological bacteria, it needs to be thoroughly disinfected with a special cleaning agent to avoid microbial growth and emulsion deterioration.
Install filtering device
Install a high-pressure filtration station in the supply pipeline to intercept solid particles and prevent them from entering the hydraulic system, causing component wear, jamming, or blockage. Regularly backwash the filter to ensure filtration efficiency.
2、 Water quality and liquid preparation control
Use soft water or deionized water
Calcium and magnesium ions in hard water will react with emulsifiers to form precipitates, which can disrupt the stability of the emulsion and adhere to the surface of the workpiece, affecting the processing quality. The conductivity of the water used for liquid preparation should be below 800 μ S/cm, and the chlorine content should not exceed 100ppm.
Standardize the liquid preparation process
First, stir the emulsified oil evenly, then slowly pour it into water and continue stirring until a uniform and stable emulsion is formed. It is strictly prohibited to pour water into emulsified oil, otherwise it may cause delamination or clumping.
Control concentration and pH value
The emulsion concentration needs to be maintained at 3% -5% (adjusted according to equipment requirements). A low concentration will reduce lubricity, while a high concentration will increase costs. The pH value should be maintained between 8.5-9.0. Acidity can cause rusting of the workpiece, while alkalinity can damage the structure of the emulsifier.
3、 Operating standards and parameter management
temperature control
The working temperature should not exceed 40 ℃. If the temperature is too high, it will accelerate the evaporation of water, leading to an increase in hardness and salt crystallization; Low temperature will reduce lubricity. Antifreezing measures should be taken in winter to prevent emulsion from freezing, expanding, and damaging pipelines.
Pressure and flow monitoring
The supply pressure should be stable within the specified range of the equipment (such as 30MPa). Excessive pressure fluctuations can cause pipeline shaking, noise, or component damage. Regularly check the setting values of safety valves and unloading valves, and strictly prohibit arbitrary adjustments.
Avoid mixing emulsified oils
The composition of emulsified oil from different brands and manufacturers may conflict, and compatibility, stability, and rust prevention tests must be conducted before mixing. Only after passing the tests can it be used.
4、 Maintenance and Loss Management
Regular supplementation and replacement
Add new liquid daily according to the processing volume, and increase the frequency of replenishment when the processing volume is large. When the emulsion exhibits phenomena such as oil separation, soap separation, discoloration, odor or non emulsification, it needs to be replaced immediately.
Control non essential losses
It is strictly prohibited to use emulsion to wash equipment, hydraulic supports, or the tail of belt conveyors to reduce leakage and dripping. Develop a reasonable consumption quota for emulsified oil to avoid waste.
Storage and transportation management
Emulsified oil should be sealed and stored in a cool and dry place away from light, with a storage period generally not exceeding 1.5 years. Expired or deteriorated emulsified oil is prohibited from use. Pay attention to fire prevention during transportation and avoid exposure to sunlight and rain.
5、 Safety protection and emergency response
Equipment stability check
Ensure that the emulsion pump and oil tank are in a horizontal and stable state to prevent tilting that may cause liquid overflow or air intake.
Abnormal situation shutdown
When abnormal noise, odor, temperature exceeding the standard, abnormal pressure, emulsion concentration or liquid level not meeting the regulations are found, the pump should be stopped immediately for inspection, and the fault should be eliminated before continuing to use.
personal protection
Wear protective gloves and goggles during operation to avoid contact of emulsion with skin or eyes. If accidentally touched, rinse thoroughly with clean water.
