The application maintenance and upkeep of lever chain hoists need to be integrated into four major aspects: daily operation, regular maintenance, environmental adaptation, and professional testing, forming a closed-loop management to ensure equipment safety and prolong service life. Expand from specific operational dimensions as follows:

1、 Maintenance points in daily operations

Three checks before use

Load verification: Confirm that the lifting weight does not exceed the rated load, and a safety factor of 1.5-2 times should be reserved for dynamic scenarios (such as frequent start stop and diagonal pulling); It is strictly prohibited to mix old and new chains to avoid transmission impact.

Component integrity inspection: The hook has no cracks or deformations, and the pin shaft is firmly fixed; The chain is not severely corroded, twisted or broken (replace immediately if the wear exceeds 15%); The brake system friction pads are free of oil stains, and the ratchet and pawl mechanisms are not stuck.

Function test: Pull the chain without load to check if the transmission is flexible, without any jamming or sliding chains; Tighten and test the self-locking device to ensure that the sliding distance is ≤ 50mm (idle for 10 minutes).

Four standards in operation

Zipper direction: Consistent with the sprocket direction, apply even force, and avoid sudden pulling or acceleration; One person operates below 5 tons, and two people collaborate above 5 tons.

Heavy object retention: The hand zipper must be tied to the lifting chain and a safety rope must be installed to prevent self-locking failure; It is prohibited to use gourds for storing heavy objects or equipment at heights.

Environmental adaptation: Protective measures (such as applying rust proof oil and using stainless steel chains) should be taken in humid, high-temperature, and corrosive environments (such as chemical workshops and beaches); Avoid missing dust-proof and waterproof designs (such as IP54 rating) during high dust or outdoor operations.

Prohibited behaviors: Overloading, inclined pulling, and inclined lifting are strictly prohibited; Prohibit forced operation when braking fails; Avoid friction between the chain and hard objects to prevent the surface coating from peeling off.

2、 Regular maintenance and professional overhaul

Periodic inspection

Daily inspection (monthly): Focus on checking chain wear, braking performance, and hook integrity; Lubricate the gap between the chain roller and the inner sleeve, as well as the gear meshing area (with special lithium grease to prevent lubricating oil from contaminating the friction plate).

Quarterly inspection (every 3 months): check the pressure of the brake spring and the thickness of the friction plate; Check for pitting and tooth breakage on the gear meshing surface; Adjust the tightness of the chain (2% -3% of the distance between the two sprockets when lifted in the middle).

Annual inspection (every 12 months): Load testing (1.25 times static load for 10 minutes, 1.1 times dynamic test), material analysis (such as chain fatigue test), and brake system performance verification will be conducted by a professional organization; Check the lubricating oil status of the reducer and replace it if necessary.

Key component maintenance

Chain maintenance: regularly clean and apply rust proof oil; When the chain breaks, even numbered chain links need to be replaced (with the locking plate opening facing in the opposite direction of rotation), and welding is strictly prohibited; Store in a dry and ventilated place when idle for a long time.

Braking system: When the wear of the friction plate exceeds the limit or the contact is poor, it needs to be replaced; When the brake spring experiences fatigue fracture, it is necessary to replace it with a spring of the same specification; The ratchet and pawl mechanism needs to be cleaned regularly and coated with anti rust oil.

Gears and bearings: The meshing surface of the gears needs to be regularly lubricated with specialized lubricating oil; Bearings need to be checked for wear and replaced if necessary; The reducer adopts oil bath lubrication to ensure moderate oil volume and avoid overheating caused by lack of oil.

3、 Fault handling and emergency measures

Common faults and their solutions

Chain: After placing heavy objects, conduct maintenance and do not forcefully pull or tug; Check if the chain is twisted and if the sprocket is worn, adjust or replace as necessary.

Brake failure: Check for oil stains on the brake surface, insufficient spring pressure, and loose coupling; Clean up oil stains, adjust spring pressure, or replace parts.

Chain breakage: Stop operation immediately and replace with a new chain that meets the specifications; Check the cause of chain wear (such as overload, corrosion) to avoid similar problems from happening again.

Electrical malfunction (electric model): Check the power supply, control circuit, and voltage stability when the motor cannot start; Check the status of the contactor and bearings when there is abnormal noise, and repair them professionally if necessary.

emergency measures

When there is a risk of heavy objects falling, immediately evacuate the personnel below and activate the emergency braking device;

When the hoist is stuck, use a spare hoist or manual winch for assistance;

When the brake fails, immediately stop the operation, install a safety rope, and contact professional maintenance.

4、 Long term management and safety certification

Maintenance records: Establish equipment files to record the date, content, results, and operators of each inspection, maintenance, and repair, facilitating the tracking of equipment status.

Professional testing: Load testing, material analysis, fatigue testing, etc. are conducted by authoritative institutions (such as CMA/CNAS certified laboratories) every six months to one year to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Safety certification and brand selection: Priority should be given to brands certified by ISO 9001, CE, GB/T, etc. (such as Harrington, Kito, Koni, Hugong); Avoid choosing unbranded or low-priced inferior products to ensure equipment quality and after-sales service.
