To extend the service life of manual forklifts, comprehensive maintenance should be carried out from five aspects: hydraulic system maintenance, key component maintenance, operation standard management, environmental adaptability adjustment, and regular professional maintenance. The specific methods are as follows:
1、 Hydraulic system maintenance
Regularly replace hydraulic oil: Hydraulic oil is the core of forklift hydraulic systems and needs to be replaced every 6 months, ensuring the use of the same oil as the prototype to avoid impurities and corrosion affecting system performance.
Check the hydraulic cylinder and seals: Regularly inspect the hydraulic cylinder for leaks and the seals for aging. If problems such as inability to lift, oil leakage, or automatic slow descent are found, the sealing ring should be replaced in a timely manner and hydraulic oil impurities should be cleaned.
Adjust the lowering valve: If the fork cannot be lowered or the pump pressure operation is abnormal, the lowering valve needs to be checked. Loosen the screw when unable to pump pressure; When the fork does not lower, tighten the screws to ensure valve sensitivity.
2、 Key component maintenance
Wheel and bearing maintenance:
Check if the nylon or polyurethane wheels have worn out into a square shape, and clean up any tangled ropes or debris.
Add the same type of lubricating grease to the bearings every month to ensure smooth movement and avoid inability to push, abnormal noise, or loss of direction.
Chain and guide wheel inspection:
Maintain appropriate tension and lubrication of the chain to avoid excessive elongation and wear on other components.
Check if the guide wheel is damaged and ensure that the chain runs smoothly and the track is unobstructed.
Forks and frame inspection:
Eliminate overloading and regularly check whether the forks are deformed and whether the frame is welded or cracked.
Focus on inspecting all welds and stress points to prevent problems before they occur.
Safety pin and valve inspection:
Wear or breakage of safety pins can cause significant safety hazards and require regular inspection and replacement.
Ensure that the descent control valve is sensitive to avoid sudden fork descent or handle failure.
3、 Operation standard management
Pre operation inspection:
Check whether the hydraulic cylinder, roller device, and brake device are effective, and remove foreign objects from the rollers.
Ensure that there are no non conformities before using the equipment.
Standardization in operation:
Control the weight of the goods during the lifting process to not exceed the forklift's weight limit.
When moving, move slowly (not exceeding 3km/hour) and ensure that the goods land on the ground after unloading.
When the forklift is running empty, press and lift it appropriately to avoid wear on the front axle support frame and the ground.
Operation taboos:
Overloading, unbalanced loading, and single fork operation are strictly prohibited, ensuring that the fork length is greater than or equal to the pallet length.
It is prohibited to park in a static state for a long time under heavy load to avoid damaging the hydraulic cylinder.
It is strictly prohibited to drop goods from a height onto a forklift or load unstable or loosely packaged goods.
When handling high objects and low loads, place the forks in the lowest position. It is strictly prohibited to operate at a speed that is too fast (not exceeding 3 kilometers per hour), and slow down when turning.
It is strictly prohibited to operate on inclined slopes or steep slopes. If necessary, the operator must not stand directly in front of the forklift.
Forklifts are strictly prohibited from carrying people or freely sliding down slopes. When the operator's line of sight is obstructed, they are strictly prohibited from operating or require the deployment of commanding personnel.
4、 Environmental adaptability adjustment
Cleaning Forklift: Regularly clean the dirt, soil, and debris on the forklift, with a focus on cleaning the fork frame and door slide, generator and starter, battery electrode fork column, water tank, air filter, and other parts.
Adapt to work environment: When used in harsh environments, it is necessary to strengthen cleaning and inspection frequency to avoid impurities such as dust and moisture affecting the performance of electrical and hydraulic systems.
5、 Regular professional maintenance
Develop maintenance plan: Develop maintenance plan based on forklift usage frequency and working conditions, including daily maintenance, first level maintenance (every 50 hours of operation), second level maintenance (every 200 hours of operation), and third level maintenance (every 600 hours of operation).
Professional maintenance: When encountering core component problems (such as hydraulic systems and safety systems), it is recommended to have them handled by professional technicians to ensure safety and maintenance quality.
