Quality issues in the evaluation of explosion proof pneumatic hoists

In the quality evaluation of explosion-proof pneumatic cranes, it is necessary to focus on five core aspects: explosion-proof performance, component selection, installation quality, operation control, and safety devices. The following is an analysis of specific quality issues:

1、 Explosion proof performance does not meet the standard

Insufficient explosion-proof level of electrical equipment: Some manufacturers choose non explosion-proof components to reduce costs, or the explosion-proof level of explosion-proof components is lower than that of the entire machine. For example, in environments with hazardous areas of Zone 1 and Zone 2, explosion-proof, increased safety, intrinsic safety, or oil immersed electrical equipment should be used. However, some cranes use ordinary electrical equipment, which poses serious safety hazards.

Lack of explosion-proof measures: Some cranes have not taken measures to prevent dangerous sparks caused by impact or friction when the explosion-proof level is IIC, IIIB, or IIIC. For example, the hook is not made of copper or copper plated alloy layer, and the wheel tread and rim are not made of materials that are not prone to sparking, such as copper alloy.

2、 Improper selection of components

Key components do not meet explosion-proof requirements: If the components and safety protection devices of the crane have explosion-proof requirements, they should not be lower than the explosion-proof level and temperature group of the entire machine. However, some manufacturers, due to negligence or other reasons, did not configure according to the requirements of the manufacturing license configuration table, resulting in substandard explosion-proof performance of the components.

Serious wear of components: Due to the fact that the wheels and hooks of explosion-proof cranes are mainly made of copper alloy or stainless steel surface coatings, these components often experience severe wear of surface coatings, which cannot achieve explosion-proof effects.

3、 Installation quality is not up to standard

Construction personnel operating without certificates: The quality and ability of the explosion-proof crane installation team vary greatly, and some construction personnel operate without certificates and do not strictly follow the construction plan and design requirements during the construction process. For example, the construction of safety protection devices, protective devices, cable entry devices, grounding, wiring, and other aspects is carried out according to the installation of ordinary cranes, resulting in substandard explosion-proof performance.

Poor sealing of cable entry device: It is common for the sealing at the cable entry or exit end to be loose or sealed with adhesive, which can lead to the occurrence of joints after cable damage and cause safety hazards.

4、 Improper speed control during operation

Running too fast: The faster the explosion-proof crane runs, the more severe the friction between the wheel and rail, and the higher the probability of high-temperature friction and sparks appearing on the surface. Some cranes did not strictly control their operating speed during operation, resulting in increased safety hazards.

Lack of speed limit device: Some cranes are not equipped with speed limit devices or the speed limit devices are ineffective, resulting in operators being unable to effectively control the operating speed of the crane.

5、 Safety device failure

Operation button failure: Button failure, emergency stop failure, and loss of voltage protection failure are common issues during inspection. These issues may prevent operators from stopping the crane operation in a timely manner in emergency situations, leading to safety accidents.

Weight limiter failure: Due to insufficient awareness of the importance of the weight limiter by the user, inspectors often find that the weight limiter has failed, been short circuited, or replaced with a regular type during inspection. This may cause the crane to operate under overload conditions, leading to safety accidents.

Damaged or missing buffer: Issues such as missing or damaged buffer parts or poor connection with end stop devices are also common during inspection. These issues may cause the crane to be unable to effectively buffer in the event of collisions during operation, resulting in equipment damage or personnel injury.
